The postdoctoral fellow will study the mechanisms underlying the function of neurons throughout life and in pathological contexts. Specifically, this postdoctoral project aims to identify and characterise the molecular programmes that regulate neuronal activity and the structural components of neurons, such as neurites and synapses, from developmental stages to adulthood. The project will investigate how these molecular programmes contribute to neuronal stability and plasticity, and how their deregulation can lead to dysfunction and behavioural changes in pathological conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases. The project will primarily use Drosophila as a model organism due to its conserved and well-characterised neurobiological principles. It will also involve a combination of molecular biology techniques, including the generation of transgenic tools, gene expression analysis and advanced imaging.

This is a position in the academic field that will be supported by the CNRS. It is designed for early-career researchers who have completed their doctoral studies and a post-doc, and who will succeed in the competition (written application and evaluation by a jury). The CPJ will allow the successful candidate to conduct independent research and contribute to the academic community, while receiving salary support for 3 to 5 years and 200 000¤ in start-up funds. The CPJ position is temporary and aims to bridge the gap between post-doctoral training and a permanent academic researcher position at the CNRS, which can be obtained within 3 to 5 years.

As part of the PEPR PROPSY ImmunoPsy program, the recruit will study the mechanisms of action of patients' autoantibodies directed against neuronal receptors. In particular, the synergistic effect of multiple autoantibody clones will be studied. The development of strategies to block the action of these autoantibodies will also be studied. This position is located in a sector covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) and therefore requires, in accordance with regulations, that the arrival of the agent be authorized by the competent Ministry of Research (MESR) authority.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral fellow to take part in our human iPSC projects. These are described on our website
https://research.pasteur.fr/en/team/integrative-neurobiology-of-cholinergic-systems/
We are looking for a candidate with extensive skills in the culture, differentiation and analysis of iPSC cultures, for different neural lineages, and microglia. Further, we are transplanting pre-differentiated iPSC into immunodeficient animals, and experience with surgical techniques would be a bonus, but is not strictly required.
The ideal candidate will have carried out his PhD using human iPSC extensively, especially the differentiation into neurons and microglia. The appointment is for three years.
