Postdoctoral position in stem cell differentiation, biomaterials and regenerative medicine.
A postdoctoral position in stem cell differentiation, biomaterials and regenerative medicine is available at the Laboratory of Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences (LNEC), INSERM-1084, Poitiers university.
Team: Cellular therapies in brain disease.
The overall concept of the project is to improve the efficiency of stem-cell therapy in the treatment of traumatic brain injury. The goal of the project is to combine motor cortical neurons generated from human pluripotent stem cells with biomaterial to create a 3D multi layered cortical structure and to transplant the 3D multi layered cortical structure into the motor cortex in a rodent and a non-human primate model of traumatic brain injury to evaluate their therapeutic potential.
The post is funded by the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (FRM). It supports a collaborative project between the group of Dr. A. Gaillard at LNEC-Poitiers university, group of Dr P. Vanderhaeghen at VIB-KULeuven, and the group of Dr E. Bezard at IMN- Bordeaux university.
We will consider candidates with experience in human stem cell differentiation and biomaterials with an excellent track record of peer-reviewed publications. Knowledge of 3D printing will be appreciated.
