DETAILS OF THE OFFER | A 1+1-year position is available in Enrica Boda’s research group at the Neuroscience Institute Cavalieri Ottolenghi (NICO), University of Torino, Italy. The selected candidate will be involved in a project funded by Telethon Foundation - Italy, aimed at targeting oligodendroglia/myelin disfunction to treat cognitive defects and epilepsy in primary autosomal recessive microcephaly-17 (MCPH17) models (see doi: 10.1038/s41467-022-30010-6). The general focus of our studies are the mechanisms underlying oligodendroglia physiopathology and cross-talk with neurons in the context of neurodevelopmental disorders and demyelinating diseases, including MS. The group is a unit of the Physiopathology of Neural Stem Cells Lab at NICO (+info). We are looking for a junior fellow or a post-doc with a degree in Biology, Biotechnology or related disciplines interested in basic research, who wish to advance in their academic training. Candidates are required to be fluent in written and spoken English. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in neurobiology, be highly motivated, and able to work independently. Previous experience with in vivo models and/or primary CNS cell cultures will be considered a plus. |
