KEY WORDS | human brain imaging, motor cortex, interoception |
CITY | Paris |
COUNTRY | France |
DETAILS OF THE OFFER | Working place: The Cognitive Science Department at Ecole Normale Supérieure Missions: Two-year post-doctoral position is open to work jointly on the somatotopic and viscerotopic organization of the primary motor cortex in humans. The project aims at determining where the coupling we discovered between the slow gastric rhythm and the BOLD signal in primary motor cortex peaks with respect to classical motor representations and recently reported inter-effector regions, on already acquired fMRI data (resting-state with electrogastrogram and motor localizers).
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have previous experience with fMRI and in particular with surface-based analysis with FreeSurfer, task-based and resting-state MRI analysis with SPM/FSL, should be familiar with cortical atlases and parcellations, have excellent programming skills coupled with an interest for functional anatomy, and a willingness to learn about interoception and about the analysis of (electro)physiological data. Since the ideal candidate probably does not exist, consider applying if you tick only some of the items but are highly motivated.
Other: The team is located in the center of Paris within the Cognitive Science Department at Ecole Normale Supérieure, with numerous opportunities to interact with the Paris scientific community at large, in a stimulating and supportive work environment. Lab life is in English, speaking French is not a requirement. |
