DETAILS OF THE OFFER | Working place: NeuroPSI Institute / "Astrocytes & Cognitions" team led by Glenn Dallérac Missions: The aim of the project is to study how neuro-glial interactions modulate the activity of brain regions regulating vital functions. Astrocytes detect and integrate changes in blood composition or neuronal activity and respond by generating a local elevation of cytosolic Ca2+. However, despite decades of research, the molecular basis underlying local Ca2+ elevations in astroglial processes remains poorly defined. The person will be co-supervised by Mr JM Cancela and Mr Glenn Dallérac. A weekly meeting will be held to monitor the progress of the thesis. Expertise in confocal calcium imaging and/or electrophysiology is desirable. The candidate will also attend the experimental training courses required to complete the project. |
