DETAILS OF THE OFFER

Working place: Missions:

We are looking for a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to lead a project on the neural basis of movement in mice.

The main activities focus on leading a research project aimed at studying the organization of descending motor pathways in the brainstem, in mice:

Experimental activities:

  • Optogenetic manipulations in freely moving mice
  • Kinematic analysis using Motion Capture
  • In vitro electrophysiological recordings of fictive motor activity
  • Anatomical and connectomic mapping


Research management activities:

  • Literature review
  • Presentation and dissemination of data in seminars and publications
  • Supervision of Master's and PhD students

Qualification:

Conceptual:

  • PhD in Neuroscience
  • Knowledge in the neural control of movements and the organization of the brainstem and spinal cord.


Experimental:

  • Experience working with genetically modified mouse lines
  • Stereotaxic surgery
  • Viral tools for studying neural connectivity
  • Histology, fluorescence microscopy
  • Computer skills (office software, data processing, and ideally programming in Matlab, R, or Python)


Interpersonal skills:

  • Curiosity, critical thinking
  • Teamwork, mutual assistance, and solidarity
  • Proficiency in French or English
