DETAILS OF THE OFFER | An 18-months-postdoctoral position funded by the ANR, the French National Research Agency, is available in the team Neuroproteomics and Signaling of Brain Disorders at the Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF) of Montpellier starting from April 2023. The project aims at understanding the impact of sugar and periodontal disease on cognition. The candidate will join the group of Dr. Sylvie CLAEYSEN within a large established team led by Dr. Philippe Marin. The IGF provides a very strong environment for research at the highest level with access to state-of-the art core facilities (pharmacology, proteomics, in vivo imaging, genomics, vectorology and histology). The recruited post-doctoral fellow will use a combination of mouse models, behavioral assessments, and multi-omic analyses to explore the impact of excessive sucrose consumption on periodontitis, oral microbiota and cognition in Alzheimer's disease. Highly motivated candidates should hold a PhD in biology, neurobiology, microbiology or a related discipline and have a previous experience in animal experimentation.
