DETAILS OF THE OFFER | The "Social Cognition & Connectomics" team of Institut de Neurosciences de la Timone is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to test the hypothesis that brain rewiring controls learning and motor behaviors in adult animals. For this, we have developed a new photoinducible technology called RAIL (Remodeling of Axons Induced by Light) that connects and disconnects neural networks on-demand. The candidate will develop new systems derived from an existing prototype. He/she will test their ability to rewire reconstructed neural circuits in microfluidics (brain-on-chip devices). The best combinations will then be tested in animal behavior. Thanks to these innovative tools, he/she will test the hypothesis that the learning performance of an individual requires a deep rewiring of the neural circuits.
