DETAILS OF THE OFFER | Working place: Team Baffet / Institut Curie The BAFFET lab is recruiting a technician for a 2-year contract (renewable, 5-year funding). Missions: The team studies the development of the human neocortex using brain organoids derived from iPS cells. We are interested in neural stem cells and how they control the generation of the different cell types (neurons and glial cells) of the neocortex. To this end, we are developing and using advanced imaging methods, including real-time live tissue imaging. The candidate will be in charge of culturing brain organoids and preparing them for imaging (slice culture for live imaging or fixed tissue for immunostaining). They will also be in charge of developing new organoid culture protocols, as well as setting up co-cultures with cells from pediatric brain tumors. Finally, depending on their level of experience, they will participate in the development of new imaging and image analysis methods. All these tasks will be carried out in close interaction with other team members.
Qualifications: We're looking for someone enthusiastic, rigorous and proactive, with experience in cell culture, but not necessarily in iPS cell culture or organoids, which can be learned in the lab. |
