DETAILS OF THE OFFER

Working place: Centre de Recherche en Neurosciences de Lyon / Université Claude Bernard Lyon1

Missions:

This position is proposed within the framework of a project funded by Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (AAP SENS 2024). The aim of this project is to better understand the consequences of aging on brain function and the sex-associated specificities, as well as the underlying cellular mechanisms in the mouse model. This project is also developing a remediation component, with the use of odors to modulate brain function.

Activities

Under the supervision of the PI, the post-doctoral fellow will be in charge of developing and conducting the scientific project. The post-doctoral fellow will plan and carry out experiments including behavioral approaches, synaptic connectivity analysis (mGRASP technology) and intracerebral fiber photometry recordings in mice. He/she will collect and analyze data and actively participate in the interpretation of results. The candidate is also expected to monitor the literature and technical developments related to the research project, discuss and present his/her data to the team and at national or international conferences, and promote his/her work in the form of scientific publication(s).

Some of the necessary methodologies are already available within the team, and the post-doc will interact closely with team members to implement them. The candidate will be expected to work autonomously, and will be able to develop the tools required for the project from those already available within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Master the conduct of integrative neuroscience experiments in mice
  • Master one or several cellular imagery techniques (fiber photometry, calcium imaging, confocal microscopy, bi-photon…) and the methods and software necessary for the analysis of associated signal
  • Know how to use a programming language (Matlab, Python, R…)
  • Master statistical analysis tools (R in particular)
  • Good writing and communication skills
