Details of the offer
Place of work: Center for interdisciplinary research in Biology, Collège de France, Paris.
Team Physiology and physiopathology of the gliovascular unit.
Missions:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to study local translation in astrocytes. The focus of the project will be to characterize local translation in astrocytes to understand its contribution to cell compartmentalization in physiology and physiopathology. Our research combines molecular approaches to characterize mRNAs and the translation machinery in astrocyte interfaces during brain development and in the adult in mouse models by:
1) Molecular approaches: Translating affinity ribosome purification, Ribosome profiling, RNA and protein immunoprecipitation, RNAseq, Mass spectrometry, qPCR.
2) Imaging approaches: Fluorescent in situ hybridization, FUNCAT, FUNCAT-PLA, immunofluorescence, 3D reconstruction of astrocytes and their interfaces and image quantification.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD degree in neuroscience and a solid expertise in translation mechanisms. The ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential.
The appointment is currently for 1 year and candidates will have to apply to additional funding opportunities. The position is available starting from now.
